Exporting from Glyphs to UFO changes some smooth points to corner points

I’m trying to incorporate some Robofont tools into my workflow and have noticed that my point structure slightly changes when I export to UFO from Glyphs, then open the UFO in Robofont.

It only happens on some of the anchor points in my glyphs, but some smooth points change to corner points. Thankfully, the off-curve points remain in the correct position.

Any idea as to why this is happening?

Can you look inside the .ufo, inside the .glif files for those glyphs when the smooth setting is lost?

Hi Georg, yes I can.

This is what I’m seeing for my O_.glif

And it looks like the point in my Robofont edit at location x=“420” y=“58” is not a smooth point anymore. In my Glyphs file, all of the points on my O are smooth.

It looks like I’m seeing this happen on just about every glyph in Robofont.

(Glyphs file for reference)

What version of Glyphs do you have? I just tried it and it works fine for me.

I’m using Version 2.6.4 (1286)

on macOS Catalina Version 10.15.3

update to latest beta (says “Cutting Edge” in Preferences),
it’s quite stable.
