On every font that I press on File->Export, the Export Destination is the latest one I used.
When working on multiple fonts (located in different folders) it becomes very tedious to remember and change the export destination folder.
It would be really nice to
Remember the Export Destination folder in the glyphs font file itself and not by the software settings.
Next to the input where you choose the destination folder, have a quick button “Set to Relative Folder” to automatically change the export folder to the exact folder of the opened glyphs file.
Even better, in my opinion, would be to have a button that toggles whether the destination folder should be saved in the Glyphs file or not, because:
It’s also useful to have an application-wide output folder that is used if nothing is stored in the file (useful for exporting to the Adobe folder, for example)
Output folders may be different for each font without being relative to the folder where you keep your Glyphs file (e.g., if you keep your Glyphs files and your exported fonts in parallel hierarchies)
A relative/absolute toggle also makes sense, but only enabled if the path is saved in the Glyphs file.
Even more powerful would be to have export profiles/presets stored in the app that you can easily switch between; e.g., one for exporting CFF files to your Adobe folder, another to export TTFs to a relative subfolder, a third to export as variable fonts, etc. That way, you would only need a single click, rather than having to select a tab and set your options each time.
