What difference does it make to choose either variable or default in Other > Font type ? If I’m using the same file to export both the variable and statics, which one should I choose?
Font type variable uses the same interpolation method for the static fonts as for variable fonts, so there should be no discrepancies between the variable font instances and the static instances. It’s still a bit buggy in some places, though, so check thoroughly.
