Font won't export — no error message

Hello there

I’ve just completed my first font, but am having difficulty exporting. When I export the font, nothing happens, no error message, nothing. And it does not download.

The only help articles I’ve found on this relate to export error messages, but seeing as I’m not getting any, I’m stumped as to what is going on here. I’ve tried quitting/restarting, moving to desktop and not working in i-cloud, and I’ve checked that I’ve got the latest version of Glyphs3.

Any clues?

Can you show what settings you have in the export window? Also, do you have exports set up in Font Info > Exports?
Otherwise, does anything show up in Window > Macro Panel?

Thanks for the reply.

Ah—maybe this is the error, I have nothing set up in Fonts Info > Exports, perhaps I missed a step?

When I go to Window > Macro Panel, there is nothing in there.

I’ve attached my export settings (tried both with true type and Postscript previously)

You’ll need to add at least one export in your Exports tab. You can use “Add Instance for each Master” from the + button.

It should work without anything in the Export settings. It will assume a “Regular” instance.

when you hit “Next …”, it should ask you for a folder where to save the font. A file should show up there.

thanks yeah this has fixed it, for some reason when nothing was in here it was not exporting.

If it’s possible to tag on another question here?

The font I’ve made is using stylistic sets that I’ve coded to cycle a bit more randomly, but this is not working with the file I exported… I presume I am missing something else here in the way I am exporting it which would allow this function to work?

I think what happened was I actually deleted the regular instance that should be automatically in there. Once I added that back in—it exports
