Fonts installed in Adobe Folder no longer appear in Indesign

Fonts installed in
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Fonts/

no longer are visible in any program except Illustrator.

How come?

I had problems with that folder now and then. I use the “/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Fonts/” (note the missing tilde) and that works fine for me.
