I have used .init to make my script font look better, but not sure why I get this red number on the sidebearing. I update metrics but it does nothing. Sometimes if I hit the little refresh icon (next to sidebearing) it works, sometimes it does nothing.
That is as good as it gets, i.e., it cannot be more precise, because you have a fractional width. And that is probably because there are no extremum points set in the glyph in question.
