i have a font project full of components(~83MB source glyphs file and ~7 million line in text source). i couldn’t open it with Glyphs 4, but i can open and edit in Glyphs 3(~8 seconds to open and laggy when browsing in glyph view). i think it’s like a performance feedback and could be considered during Glyphs app development. the project isn’t opensource(at least not yet), but i can send the source file via message to test it.
@GeorgSeifert I’m starting this thread to clarify if the current Glyphs 4 public preview reflects the final performance, or if further optimizations are planned before the official release. Please let me know if you would like me to share my project file for performance testing and debugging purposes. thanks.
If there is a clear performance regression, I’ll (try to) fix it, for sure. Please send me the file.
sent. thank you.
I’m on it. That file is crazy
but a very good performance test case.
Thank you! Glad it’s useful. “Crazy” is definitely the right word for that ![]()
