Glyphs 4: Cutting and pasting paths in one master deleting paths from the other masters

I don’t know if this is a setting that I need to adjust that I’ve not found or whether this is intended behaviour or a bug.

I have three masters Thin, Regular and Black in my file. When I use the cut command on a path in one master the corresponding path I cut (by stacked order) is now deleted from the other two masters. Even if I paste it back in on the original master I cut from the corresponding patha on the other two MAsters is missing. I have to undo the steps to get them back again.

I use the cut and paste method to reorder the paths to make sure my interpolation is working correctly and this renders this method almost unusable . I’ve ended up making a copy of the other two Masters then reordering the paths in the Master I need to using Cut and Paste and then restoring the now broken two other Masters with missing paths from the copies which still retain them.

I’ve searched in the app but can’t find a setting that might link the paths on all masters (or unlink them) so that this behaviour doesn’t happen.

I tried disabling plugins but that didn’t help. I tried another Glyphs file and the same behaviour happens with that file as well.

I couldn’t find anything in the Handbook on this.

Is this a bug or just plain old user error?

That is fixed in the cutting edge version 4.1. You can try by activating “Show Cutting edge versions” in Settings > Updates.

Thats great! Thanks for the update I’ll check it out in the morning. Relieved to know it wasn’t user error!
