Glyphs freezes every few seconds

I tried several projects (including some typical Chinese fonts with 10k+ glyphs and a newly established Latin file) and the interface freezes with the spinning pinwheel every now and then.

The behavior is much like when Glyphs is autosaving the project. To exclude such factor, I’ve already set the autosavingDelay to 300.

Are there any more settings that I can disable to avoid such freezing?

Glyphs Build 3507 in macOS 26.1 Beta (25B5062e)

It may be connected to macOS 26.

Ho did you set this? It needs to be set every time you start Glyphs.

Do you use smart components?

No smart components. As I said, it happens even if it’s a new empty file. I suppose Rainer’s reasoning considering macOS 26 makes sense.

Can you try to start without plugins. Hold down the Option + Shift key when you start Glyphs.

That did make a difference.

Do you happen to have the guides panel?

I guess one of the plugins is not doing well under macOS 26. Can you Help > Copy Diagnostics and paste it here?

can you remove one plugin at a time (and restart Glyphs each time) and see when the problem goes away?

Strangely after a start without plugins, the regular start-up became fluent and no freezing any more (at least until now). I didn’t remove anything and all the plugins runs well. :joy:
