GPOS error: 5 type: MarkToMarkAttachment

Hi there, I am working on a variable font and when I export as a variable font it says:

Problem compiling “GPOS” table
Subtable Overflow in lookup: 5 type: MarkToMarkAttachment

I have 704 glyphs in four masters including Latin(basic Latin to north-east European), numerals, marks, punctuations and very few Hanzi.

Latin extended letters are made with combining marks and basic letters all with correct anchors.

Do you have a lot of kerning? Try adding the Use Extension Kerning custom parameter to Font Info > Font.

I use KernOn and get 8000+ kernings. I guess that’s the reason why. Thanks!
