Grey Glyphs

I’m brand new to this. I’m trying to create a font. I’ve added the glyphs that I want to use by entering the unicode value, however, I think it’s a little different than it should be. All of the glyphs are light grey instead of black. Am I missing something?

The light gray glyphs are only placeholders if the glyph is still empty. Double click the glyph and add some outlines.
