Why is this happening? How can I set the origin to x=0,y=0 for my guides.
I don’t understand what the problem is, can you explain what you are trying to achieve and what isn’t working?
Italic angle is calculated from mid x-height, and coordinates are not slanted. Make y = xHeight / 2 and x = 0 to put the guide to the left most side.
But why in the world at x-height/2? Weird arbitrary value.
Try put some letters in indesign and set some in the middle of the line to italic. Half x-height will give the best fitting in a line of lowercase.
