Guides gone missing

Since I upgraded MacOS yesterday the guidelines vanished except for the dot itself.

My glyphs version is 2.6.11 and my MacOS is 15.3.1.

Has anyone an idea how to fix it?

Sincerely

This is an issue introduced by recent versions of macOS, previously discussed in multiple threads here. It has been fixed in the latest version of Glyphs, but you’re using a very old version.

Glyphs 2 may run on newer systems but it is not officially supported. Max OS is macOS 12.2. for everything else, see:

Thanks for reaching out. I read the article and come to following conclusion: I may be a professional brand designer, however, I’m not a professional type designer. Recently I reentered a type project I started as a student for when I purchased the Glyphs 2 license back in the days. Installing the stem thickness plugin already was a pain in the ass I was only able to manage with help from an IT friend (for I am hilariously bad with computers). Eventually I hardly see myself upgrading yet just stop working on the font. I understand that Glyphs 2 won’t receive any advancements for there’s Glyphs 3, but we talk about vanishing guide lines. That’s remarkably odd.

This is an issue introduced in Sonoma. Glyphs Mini, based on Glyphs 2, has received a fix, so there may be a possibility of using the same fix in Glyphs 2. Not sure whether that’s planned, though.

The issues is a bug in macOS 15.3. We found a workaround that is now in Glyphs 3 and Glyphs Mini, but really this workaround should not be needed and may not be sufficient in some extreme case. Hopefully Apple will fix it in a future OS update.
