Maybe this is related to the beta OS; those tend to be much slower in certain use cases. Otherwise, a plug-in could be causing the issue, again maybe related to the beta OS.
Try launching Glyphs without plug-ins by holding down the Option and Shift key as Glyphs launches. Does that change the performance noticeably?
You can go to the Plugins folder (Script → Open Scripts Folder, the Plugins folder is next to it), move half of the plug-ins to a temporary location like the Desktop. Relaunch Glyphs. If it is still slow, move half of the remaining plug-ins out, relaunch Glyphs, and so on until it is fast.
Then, move the plug-ins from the temporary location back into the Plugins folder, restart Glyphs, repeat until the slowdown becomes noticeable. Then you know the cause.
