Hey guys,

Iā€™m working on Hebrew-Latin font which have two different letter height (The latin: Caps & x-height, Hebrew: shoulderHeight) How do I autohint it properly? does autohinter takes the shoulderHeight into consideration?
How do I assure that Hebrew & Latin will hint properly?

The PS autohinting is currently not able to properly handle different scripts because there is only one list of zones. The new CFF2 format will change that. But I suspect the actual problems to be minor.

TrueType auto- and manual hinting can and will handle it properly.

Just so I can understand, you suggest autohint the latin and manual hint the Hebrew?

No that is not what he said.

PS hinting in its current implementation can only have one set of zones. You can mix manual and auto hinting in PS.

You cannot mix manual and auto in TT though. But both manual and auto hinting can handle different sets of zones for different scripts.
