How to do the same grouping fonts in Adobe menus for variable ttf and many otf for font family

Hi,
I have one Glyphs file for variable TTF , and also for exporting many OTFs for all font styles from this file.
In Adobe illustrator fonts exported from same Glyphs file have different sorting in font menu.

Maybe you know how to make them the same?

For variable fonts, the axis order is taken for sorting. There is an AxisOrder attribute, but it’s not implemented in Glyphs yet. You could add it post-export in OTMaster or with ttx.

Seems like Adobe also puts the variable font origin as the first style in the menu, so we have to select the lightest and narrowest style as the origin. Or is there any workaround to that?

Correct. And there is no workaround, at least not one I heard of. The proof-of-concept font they use themselves, Acumin, works the same way.
