How to spot double contours on top of each other

Dear Community,

I came across shapes of the same size and position that were laying exactly on top of each other. I found those only by chance – is there a way to let Glyphs indicate that automatically?

Thank you,
Johannes

Automatically I don’t know, but if you have two masters, hitting cmd+a will select all the nodes of that glyph and you can then compare the amount of nodes from one master to the other.
Also, turning on Show Master Compatibility in View menu will highlight cases like the one you are describing… unless you have exactly the same double elements in both masters which is unlikely.

@mekkablue has a reporter plugin that will tell you: https://github.com/mekkablue/ShowAngledHandles

Great, thanks to both of you! Mekka’s script works like a charm!

IIRC, there is a script which will find and delete duplicate paths, “Delete Duplicate Paths”. Rainer wrote it for us in 2014 or 2015, I believe. It’s in his repository.

This is the one you mean, I suppose.

Yes, that’s the one.
