How to temporarily exclude an axis when exporting a variable font

I couldn’t find the answer in the documentation or on the forum, so I probably missed it — apologies in advance for the simple question.

I’ve set up 3 axes, but the italic is not ready yet. I’d like to have two export setups:

  1. A usable, distributable roman variable font without the italic axis.
  2. An in-progress version that includes the italic axis for testing.

How can I configure the export so that I get a Roman-only variable font without the italic axis?

Use the Disable Masters parameter.

As Sebastian said. Remove all masters that have a different axis value for the axis you like to remove.
