These days inDesign doesn’t update fonts like it used to. I’m developing a typeface with two instances, and I’m exporting to the Adobe fonts folder. Both instances appear in my specimen document, but only the first updates when I reexport a new version of the typeface. It takes a quit and restart of the InDesign app to force an update of the other instance. Anyone else seeing this? This is InDesign 2021 v16.0.
What version of MacOS do you have?
Try placing the test fonts in the Fonts folder of Indesign (/Applications/Adobe InDesign 2021) directly rather than in the Font folder of Adobe (/Library/Application Support/Adobe).
We have had problems reported in Big Sur.
This is on Catalina (10.15.7)
I use it in Catalina and if works fine there. Can you check that you actually write new fonts? maybe you don’t have write permissions for that folder?
Ah, got it sorted out. I think earlier I’d imported that one instance into the system via Font Explorer Pro, so ID was referencing that version rather than the new one Glyphs was saving into the Adobe folder.
