The forum topic that you have linked to is about duplicate glyphs (multiple glyphs with the same name in a font). The “duplicate fonts” warning when installing a font on a Mac is different. It happens when installing multiple fonts with the same name on a Mac.
You can either uninstall the currently installed font or rename the new font so that both can be installed together.

i check the fonts under the current user and found that there are 3. haha. I don’t know Mac can install so many same and I did not notice that.
