Is this a bug or a user error?

I’m relatively new to Glyphs and have been using Glyphs Mini 2.

I have been trying to create a ‘franc’ symbol using existing glyphs mapped to /F and /r. I copy both characters into the ‘franc’ glyph and, once I have them overlapping, click ‘remove overlap’. When I do this, the /F and /r disappear leaving a blank glyph (save the default watermark glyph).

I’ve had no problems removing overlaps on any other glyph.

Any ideas what’s going on?

Did you open the paths? Can you send me the font right before the remove overlap?

Hi Georg,

I’ve sent the file via PM.

Thanks,
Steve

This is a bug. I’ll have a look.

I’ll need to fix a the remove algorithm a bit to make it work in your case. But if you move one handle by one unit, it will work:

Move that selected node up one unit (as you might have intended to be).

Thanks a lot Georg. I went another route with the glyph design, but you were right: that handle should have been ‘0’.
