Issue Loading Glyphs File

Hello!

I have been working on a large superfamily for the past few months. Last week, while working on the file, Glyphs got stuck with the rainbow spinning wheel for a large period of time and I had to force quit it.

Now, when I try to open the file, Glyphs becomes unresponsive, as if it thinks the file is loaded but it isn’t. No error message whatsoever. Also, under this confused state, Glyphs won’t open any other file. It’s as if the seemingly corrupted file manages to hijack Glyphs capacity to load other files. At least until I quit it and restart it.

The strange part of all of this is that I can still open the file in FontLab and Fontra no problem, and no data appears to be lost. I’ve tried opening the file in a text processor and compare its content with a backup file but I can’t seem to notice any mayor difference in the text.

Have I lost the progress in this particular version of the file?

I am using Glyphs last update 3.4.1 (3436).

PS: I sent the problematic file via email (subject: Issue Opening File) on Oct 25

Can you check whether there is a (Autosaved).glyphspackage file in the same directory? Glyphs will try to load that by default. Move it somewhere else and try to open your original file.

Already tried that. The behavior is the same. Glyphs won’t open the file, and also get confused and won’t open any other file afterwards.

Could you send me the file in a private message (click my profile picture → Message)? I’ll have a look.

Maybe a plug-in is interfering? In that case, launching Glyphs with the Option (⌥) and Shift (⇧) key held down will temporarily deactivate plug-ins.
