Is there a plugin/script/route to view the font with other settings than left and right?
Maybe a button/dropdown in the lower part of the Glyphs Window to view sample text with centered setting.

Glyphs is not a layout app. If you’re into coding, look into Drawbot (available in Plugin Manager):
