Kerning Interpolation Question - Zero kerning or delete kerning?

I have kerned a couple glyphs 10 unites in a bold master. The light master doesn’t need that kerning so I have deleted the kerning between those two glyphs. I am wondering now, for interpolation, would it be better to insert a zero kerning value instead of deleting the kerning in the light master?

“Missing” kerning in some master will default to zero. So a zero pair in not needed for interpolation. But it might be as an exception pair.

Very happy to hear that. Thank you!

Do you mean exceptions need adding zero kerning manually?

No. I meant that you sometimes need zero kerning with exceptions (to counter class kerning in certain situations). It that has nothing to do with interpolations. Just saying that you don’t delete all zero pairs.
