makeotfGlyphs [FATAL] premature end of input

I’m designing a typeface with 3 masters. Suddenly I can not export anymore.

This is the error message I get:
makeotfGlyphs [FATAL] premature end of input

Glyphs manages to export 4 out of 5 weights before the error. I’m using Glyphs 1.3.11.

Is there a log file somewhere that might give me a hint?

I just went into the settings and changed the Grid Spacing from 1 to 0, and now it works again. What is actually happening?

Can you send me the .glyphs files? Or at least the content of the folder ~/Application Support/Glyphs/Temp/(the font name of the not working font)
There should be a bunch of text files in it.

Sure! I sent it to info(at)glyphsapp(dot)com

Hi there,

I’m also experiencing this error.

I changed gridspacing to 0 but it still occurs.

Interestingly, if I delete the contents of the TEMP directory, I do not see the error - it’s only when files exist in the TEMP directory that I see it.

I’ve emailed you my TEMP directory

Hmm - I discovered a semibold instance which shouldn’t have been there, so removed that.

I now get a full editor crash on every export to otf.

@tomkiss
can you send me the .glyphs file?

i originally was having issues getting the “makeotfglyphs…” issue, but was able to get around it. but now when i export the file, it’s not creating any otf file based on my new version of edits. any help?

Can you send me the .glyphs file? mekka at my username dot com.

Thank you for sending the file. There is a bad glyph name which contains an equals sign and a bracket. This messes up the OT feature code and produces the “premature end of input” error.

Hello,

I am receiving this error as well.
Changed grid spacing and still same.

Please check your glyph names:
