My manual TT hinting looks good in static TT fonts and in variable fonts in MacOS. But in Windows 10 it looks pretty much awful in thin and bold weights. Any Idea, what goes wrong here?
Try the no stem setting. There’sa script for batch setting. And generally distort less.
Are you using diagonal hints?
What app is this? And what version of Glyphs?

I’ve seen similar reports of variable font rendering in InDesign. Are we all sure that it’s not a buggy cvar table in the fonts?
The Indesign problem is a bug in Indesign. I verified that and reported it.
Can you seed me the font that I can check?

I exported the font in version 3.2 and it works as expected in window 10. There are some things in the setup that can be improved and changing them will improve the rendering.
