Hi,
I have an imported otf of an Arabic font and I added anchors to letters and marks. However I can’t see the mark cloud when I select an anchor, and neither the Mark Preview plugin shows anything. At the same time, another open file (designed in Glyphs) displays the mark cloud properly.
What might be causing this?
OK. I figured out that if I rename to Glyphs names then the mark cloud works. Shouldn’t this be using the unicodes instead of the names to decide what to display?
No, because not every mark has a Unicode assigned (think .case variants, etc.). The mark cloud is therefore defined by the glyph names. See the tutorial Roll Your Own Glyph Data: https://glyphsapp.com/tutorials/roll-your-own-glyph-data
