Measurement Tool doesn't work on background layer (791)

OS X 10.10.4, G2.1.1 (791)
It’s only reading the foreground even while in the background layer.

Also, the measurement tool doesn’t show the value on horizontal stems, when measuring with shift (alt+ctrl+cmd+shift)

My Measurement Tool is reading the background instead of the foreground. (Even when I delete the shapes on the background). Any help? Can’t understand what is it reading.

What version of Glyphs do you have?

Version 2.4.1 (983)

This is probably fixed in the recent betas. Activate cutting edge in Preferences > Updates, and check for updates.

Version 2.6.2 (1245), It can’t measure components on background layer. Please check it.

Works for me. Can you make a screencast that I see what you are doing exactly.

Measurement tool doesn’t work in this situation, Gideline (measure mode) as well.

I was going to post a new thread about this; it’s still the case that I cannot use measurement tool in the background.

works for me:

can you send me the file?

I made more tests, but it may not be file-dependent, but rather the layer’s position. In my test, a background is measured correctly when it’s the first glyph in the view, but not when it’s second and onwards.

Works for me in other positions, too.
