I have a problem with alignment on Figma and indesign, I was able to read the online resources and the problems of other users on this subject, only no matter how much I enter my values, the placement does not change (hhea, win, typo)
The customer who the cast is intended for wants it to align with the baseline
Do you have the custom parameter “Use Typo Metrics” set?
I wouldn’t compare my font with (very) old fonts. They often use outdated practices that are not encouraged anymore. What exactly are you trying to achieve? The alignment looks good to me. Arial and Helvetica, however, look wrong. That’s why I wouldn’t use them as reference.
Looks like the font has lower Ascender / TypoAscender / WinAscent, and higher Descender / TypoDescender / WinDescend, then Arial and Helvetica. It could be the reason of a shift.
If you select the text in all three fonts in example one by one in Figma, you’ll see the height of a selection. Different operation systems, applications, and web browsers caltulate vertical metrics in different ways, so there are some strategies that help to keep the vertical metrics the same in most environments.
I would only like to lower the baseline of my cast by 2px, if anyone has a solution I’m all for it!
The other problems of discrepancies are now solved.
Thank you
Is this Google Translate’s interpretation of “ma fonte”?
What do you mean by “lower by 2px”? Do you want to make the space above bigger? Or the space below smaller? Everything you need for that is explained in the Vertical Metrics tutorial.
hahaha yes (I didn’t proofread my text before sending it
I just found the solution I just had to enter 1000 in ascender and it now works on Figma and indesign
