When aligning, to help align items, I’d be helpful to have an alignment line or some kind of highlight, example where it’d be helpful:
alignment

What currently works:
aligning one or two nodes shows a highlight in the other element when there’s a "match".

What would be helpful:
show highlights also when selecting a whole element.

I am not sure. It may look good in this simple example, because there are not many nodes. In more complex glyphs, it may wreak havoc every time you press an arrow key.

But if you want to align whole paths, why not use the align button in the palette?
