Moving from Fontlab

Hi,

I ran the script to move my font file from Fontlab to Glyphs.
It gave me the following error:

SyntaxError: invalid syntax
File “”, line 4

thanks.

Then you not downloaded the script but a HTML file showing it. Use the “download as zip” from the lower right of the scrips page.

thanks!

Hey Georg,
I downloaded the script, and installed it at: /Library/Application Support/FontLab/Studio 5/Macros/Glyphs Export.py
But I can’t seem to figure out where and how in font lab I’m supposed to export my fontlab file into a .glyph file.
Thanks for the help.

The .glyphs file will be saved next to .vfb.

Yes but how do I run the script?

It will show up in the macro toolbar:
fontlab macro toolbar

Got it. Thanks!!

For reference, here is a tutorial on porting your font files from FontLab Studio to Glyphs:

Georg & Mekka,

By the way, the rotated ligatures thing that you already fixed in Glyph (when opening ufo files), needs also to be ported to the FL Export script.

When exporting using the macro, the ligatures remain flipped.

FontLab does not support this transformations. I added a warning.

Hello Georg
It seems that I’ve exactly the same problem. But I can’t find the "download as zip” function. Can you help me? Thanks in advance!

Try the green button on the Github page.

I had not installed Github yet. Now it works. Thanks a lot!
