Is there a way to have multiple kerning groups for the same letter?
I’m working on a script typeface and I have different kerning groups already between the lowercase and the numerals, then between capitals, then between lowercase again… If it was possible to have multiple groups would really help.
I am afraid that it would not help, on the contrary, you will run into so-called kerning conflicts. Because the font won’t compile if, say, one left group kerns to both right groups a letter is in. And it gets increasingly complicated if the same letter is in many groups, and if you do that with many letters, and both on the left and the right. You will hardly be able to place kerning pairs anymore.
