I have several layers with custom designs. I renamed them to remember which one is which. But when I change them with use as a master button, names are overwritten, and are again default: weight with a date.
If you use it as master, it must have the master name. In other words, using a layer as master means setting its name to the name of the master.
And then, what was previously the master is renamed to master name plus date.
So what is changing name function for? Kind of misleading for me…
You can change the name of the extra layers for anything you intend it for, including its use as a backup or for the bracket trick etc. Only if you use it as master, its name will be reset.
