Noob Questions: Skew Shape & Offset Path

Noob here working in GlyphsMini to vectorize a logo

Using Illustrator terms:

How can I “skew” or “italicise” a shape?

How can I “offset” a path?

Thank you

Select a path (or all paths on the current layer with ⌘A) and press one of the Slant :slant_right: buttons in the Transformations palette in the right sidebar. The angle of the slant can be controlled using the text field between the two Slant buttons.

These buttons work well for quick on-the-fly adjustments. Use the command FilterTransformation for more control.

Select a path and choose FilterOffset Curve. You can just offset the path, or check Make Stroke to offset the path in both directions.

Thank you

More noob questions:

How do you lock paths?
Does mini come with layers?

If these are no goes, can my Mini purchase count towards the full version?

Mini does not have layers. But you can duplicate a glyph and have an alternate glyph.

There is no path locking in Glyphs Mini, just Glyphs.

Layer are only available in the full version, but paths in Glyphs work similar to how you might expect layers to work in Illustrator. The layers in Glyphs serve a different role then they do in Illustrator.

Yes, you can get a coupon code for the full version that covers the price of Glyphs Mini.

Thank you. Hail mary, but if paths work simliar to how layers work, can I lock “layers" in mini glyph?

In Glyphs Mini, there is no locking. Path and layer locking are only in the full version.
