NULL used to export with the unicode 0000.
But unicode 0000 is not valid and useful. So not setting it is an improvement ;).
Hi, according to Microsoft Specification null should have this unicode, Is this not really needed? @GeorgSeifert could you please tell something more about this?
Thanks in advance!
The null glyph is not needed. There was a very old recommendation to add it but that is not there any more. As long Iām making font it was not needed. Or can you point me to the spec you mentioned?
Thanks for the info. This is the spec https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/typography/opentype/otspec170/recom#first-four-glyphs-in-fonts
Best.
This is an outdated version of the OpenType spec. Look at the current one:
You see, only .notdef is left.
Thanks a lot!
