It seems like OpenType features are not applied in text mode in Glyphs, although the code is correct and they work in the exported font. liga, onum… Any feature I test doesn’t work. Is anybody else getting this?
Works for me.
Since a couple of weeks I experience the following: existing features are applied correctly in text mode, but if I build a new feature it does not work until I activate it via the »set palette« plugin at least once.
I’m on Version 3512
What happens if you hit the “Compile” button in the Feature window?
nothing. Compile and Update buttons show no effect. But set palette does the trick.
What do you mean be “set palette”?
A plugin by mekkablue from the Plugin Manager – palette for toggling stylistic sets in Edit view.
but now I realise it is for stylistic sets only, so this workaround will not work for other features.
And toggling them in the normal feature popup doesn’t work?
No. I just tried again: made a new stylistic set ss05 (atuomatically generated), hit update features inside the features panel as well as update features button in edit view – nothing happens, the stylistic set does not show up in the features popup in edit view. Then activated ss05 in Set Palette, now it shows up in the popup and works as intended.
All of this in version 3512 (don’t want to update at the moment), and it does not bother me, because of the workaround. Just thought I’ll let you know, maybe it is related to what Sebastian wrote in his initial posting.
There is a “Compile” button next to the “Update” button. Did you click this one, too?
yes.
