Path/point jumps by only clicking on it

I am very new to Glyphs and use the latest version of mini. Any time I click on a path/ (not moving the mouse at all at the same time) the path/point jumps a bit. How can I avoid this? Holding “shift” did not help unfortunately.

Can you make a screencast that shows this?

Thanks for the fast reply. I’d love to share the screencast, but I am not enabled to do so. I only can send one Screenshot in a post. So here we go: You see the blue dot? This is the spot, where I exactly clicked on the path. And the path moved to the left. Path should cross the blue dot in the very center of it. Hope this makes it clear?

… ok, seems like the path snaps to the closest gridpoint. (I was looking at this problem for so long and couldn’t figure it out, so sorry.) Anyways: settings are very limited in the mini version though. Seems, like it is not possible to disable this snapping function. In case you know how to, let me know

The snapping to the grid is necessary as this grid is used in the exported font format as well. Otherwise, the outline you see in Glyphs would not be the same as the outline in the exported font file.

But you can set a smaller grid it you really need to (e.g. if you need tiny corner radiuses). In the bottom of the Font Info screen, you see grid and subdivision. So you can set your grid to one unit and divide it by e.g. 10. Or disable the grid altogether by setting the grid to zero. But that will most likely only result in inconsistent outlines.

Thank you, now I understand what’s behind it. Also thanks for the suggestion, to chose a smaller grid in case it’s neccessary
