Pen Tool Issue, Disappearing Handles

I’m trying to connect two open points and I loose the handles. Please see the video of how it works in Illustrator and then Glyphs app:

That is not how handles are handled in Glyphs at the moment. You need to have the segment first in this case.

Seems wrong to not be able to just add the off curve point using the pen tool
