It’s less tested than the so-called “stable” version. Use at your own risk.

Nah, please. Typically newer versions have fewer program crashes because they contain fixes for crashes in the stable version. But other things may go wrong, like overwrite glyph properties wrongly or guides not being stored. So work with a versioning system (like git) or make lots of backups (e.g. with TimeMachine).
