I gave the quotesinglbase a firm spacing value on each side with both sides being the same value (56). I then give a constant value to each of the other quoting glyphs, “=quotesinglbase”. I have regularly done this for years with no issues. This allows me to control all of the quoting glyphs with one value. However, with the current version of Glyphs, the values go all whacky and the hard value on quotesinglbase gets changed to some random negative number?
Does your quotesinglebase contain a component, or is it paths only?
Paths only, very simple, 4 straight lines
Which exact app version?
3.5 (3525)
If you like, you can send me the file and I’ll take a look (feel free to remove all other irrelevant glyphs). Or send it to support at thisdomain.
I sent it.
Sebastian was on the right track. You link all your quotes to the “quotesinglbase”. But “quotesinglbase” itself has a component if the “quoteright”. “quoteright” has metrics keys to “quotesinglbase”. You should link all glyphs to “quoteright” so link only in one direction.
Thanks, to everyone!
It turns out that I had mistakenly used the comma as the base unit for my quote marks and thus it was user error on my part. Sorry for the inconvenience to all.
