I just found out that all the headaches of PPT are resolved when a VF is intalled.
Still no way to access OpenType that is off by default. But all, on by default OpenType works. Also no kern table needed, GPOS works fine.
Just wanted to put this out there since I haven’t seen it mentioned in any other discussions on the topic.
Please let me know if anyone can not replicate this, as I am still a little baffled that this does work.
