Preview area wastes space

There seems to be a huge amount of whitespace at the top and bottom of glyphs in the preview area. Because you can’t zoom the preview area other than by making the panel bigger, this makes it very difficult to preview instances at any level of detail:

I think the scaling there is determined by the vertical metrics. Do you have any very tall glyphs by any chance? You can set the “Preview Ascender”/“Preview Descender” custom parameters on the masters to control the scaling.

I did have very tall glyphs, but that shouldn’t matter because the vertical metrics as set on the masters and exports were normal. Preview Ascender/Descender helps when you are previewing a master, but not when you are previewing an instance. However, it does seem to help for “Show All Instances”, so I can get away with using that.

Can you send me the file?
