Is it possible to put added components on the bottom layer by default? It’s like bottom in Illustrator.
Because it’s not easy to adjust the curves of the other shapes covered by the component and the selection of line segments.
Or is there any other way to solve this problem?
There are no “layers” in that sense. All shapes are on the same layer. You are asking whether it is possible to select paths when they are “covered” by components? This is indeed difficult. Generally speaking, it’s not a good idea to mix paths and components, though. Can you post a screenshot of what you are trying to work on?
Thank you, as I was thinking about Shape Order earlier and was slightly confused.
The main thing is that not being able to multi-select points by selecting paths is slightly less efficient, and there aren’t many cases where you need to go to adjust curves like in the picture.
The inability of components to Stem Thickness is also a point of inconvenience, especially with smart components.
Double click on or near a path to select all of its nodes.
I am not quite sure what you are referring to. Could you expand on this point or provide a screenshot of what this inability is?
In general, it’s best to have a glyph be built from only paths or only components. When using components, anchors snap the shapes together in precisely the way you want them to.
I think what is meant is the fact that the Show Stem Thickness plugin doesn’t work on components, which is annoying when working with smart components (I agree). This could be added in the plugin, though.
I mean selecting the segment paths that are covered by components, not the whole path.
Yes, this plugin.
This is a 3rd party plugin and the developer has not implemented that it will work with components.
You could either request that with the developer, or you could try “Show Stems Pro” which does measure components as well. I find it also very useful for Smart Components, where you can tweak the SC sliders (or numbers) while having the measurements stay in place. Something that is not possible with “Show Stem Thickness” because it always follows your mouse cursor.
