Is there a built-in function with associated keyboard shortcut to select whole contours from selected points and/or segments?
The only built-in way to select the whole contour is by double clicking one of the segments.

Speaking of selecting contours/segments, I regularly use option-drag to ignore handles when box selecting anchors would love to have a similar way to select curve segments.
For instance, command-box-select over a part of a curve could result in the same thing as double clicking on that segment.
Florian wrote a plug-in for selecting with the keys rather than the mouse.
