QuickLook finder preview not working properly

Hi, I couldn’t find straight answer …
When trying to preview .glyphs file something like this is appearing… Its frustrating when I cannot just preview files and have to open them. I have a lots of files and its time consuming…
Im saving for glyphs3 (format version), sequoia. I remember having those problem from long time… and only with glyph files… Any ideas?

You are most likely on the latest version of macOS. It discontinued the QuickLook plugins. It needs a new type of plugin. We added those to the cutting edge version.

not much better after installing cutting edge version.

Im on sequoia 15.0 (24A335)…
any more ideas?

The new QuickLook API that Apple requires as of macOS Sequoia can be a bit unstable. (Not that the previous API was much better.) Try logging out and logging back into your Mac account. Or, restarting your Mac.

already did it few times :(… no change, also tried to force quit quicklook, no response. Little thing but annoying. :man_shrugging:

OK, good to know. We’ll have a quick look to see what the issue is.

Hi, same problem under Sequoia 15.1, quick look is still displaying code and the icon is just the glyphs logo. Also a large amount (but not all) .ttf and .otf files have ‘Ll’ instead of ‘Aa’ miniature file icon. I asked online help to apple and they don’t understand why.

Same on Mac OS 15.1.1
Any new ideas how to get back to the good old preview?

Apple removed the good old preview in the new OS version, so we have to rebuild our previews to also work on the new OS. Hopefully we have a new version soon that works on both old and new OS versions. The current cutting-edge Glyphs has some of that already, but the new preview code is still not working as intended.

I have the same problem and I’m still on Monterey

QuickLook for .glyphs files is working for me on the latest Sequoia version, but can we also get the woff2 QuickLook back? (It just displays the FontGoggles icon; woff QL is working)

WOFF and WOFF2 QuickLook are in the works and I hope to ship cutting-edge versions soon.

Are you sure .woff QuickLook is working? Thus far, we have ported our QuickLook implementation for Glyphs files (.glyphs, .glyphspackage). If it does work, what does the QuickLook preview of a .woff file look like for you?

It looks like this:

I’m not sure how to find out exactly which QuickLook generator is producing the preview …

Run this in terminal: qlmanage -m plugins. (I’m still on Ventura, so I’m not sure if it still works in Sonoma.)
