Has the remove overlap algorithm changed? It doesn’t remove points on a straight line anymore, like the one pointed at by the red arrow in the image.
It might have been an effort to keep compatible outlines. I’ll have a look.
Remove Overlap or Remove Overlap on All Masters? The latter has indeed become more conservative about removing points, a couple of app versions ago.
It happens with both methods.

For now, you need to run “Tidy up path” after removing overlap.
