Remove Overlap fails on complex vectorized outlines

Hello,

To preserve a brush-like texture, the glyphs were not drawn directly in Glyphs. Instead, the shapes were vectorized in Adobe Illustrator and then pasted into Glyphs.

The font works fine in general, but in some photo or video editing apps, when applying stroke or outline effects, unexpected straight lines appear extending from the glyphs.

To prevent this, I tried exporting the font with Remove Overlap enabled. However, several glyphs consistently produce a “Remove Overlap failed” error, even after using Clean Up Paths and Correct Path Direction.

I would like to ask whether this behavior is considered expected due to outline complexity, or if there is a recommended way to make such glyphs compatible with Remove Overlap.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

That is kind of to be expected. Those lines are most likely from very sharp corners. Can you show screenshot of the outlines in the area where the lines originate?
