Hello, is there any way of achieving the result on the right? It comes from FontLab, I think, the result on the left is what Glyphs creates.
Can you show the original outline?
That means that the rounding spans multiple segment. That is possible but also produces incompatible outlines. I’ll have a look.
I don’t need compatible outlines, since this is only to be applied as a filter upon (static) export.
Just to check, since you mention compatible outlines, I can’t apply the RoundCorners filter on a variable font in some way, right?
Thanks!
We are working on it.
It is actually already implemented: Add a number value in the master settings (e.g. “corner”). then, in the variable instance settings use $corner
as your radius.
Amazing, thank you!! Will test later.
That also answers my question about using number tokens in custom parameters. Brilliant!
Hmm, I still get an issue with “Incompatible outlines/outside transparent overlaps”…
Another thought. Wouldn’t the outlined still be compatible if the node produced between multiple segments is doubled? Like in my very first screenshot, on the right, if you double the node, the outlines are compatible.
But when the radius is smaller than that short segment, it will produce one extra segment.
