Seamless Lines. Lost in the Matrix/Metrics

I am creating a symbol font with typographic borders, which are supposed to connect seamlessly across glyphs and lines. But I have trouble setting the correct metric values.

The drawings fill the complete space between ascender and descender, but the individual lines are always displayed with leading—in Glyphs as well as in other apps.

How to solve this? I tried playing with all the different optional metrics values (linegap and so on), but I couldn’t solve it.

There is a ‘preview line height’ custom parameter.

Where/how can that be set?

It is actually called “EditView Line Height” (I wrote the last reply on the go) and is available in the font tab.
