Show 2 preview bars at once for different interpolated instances?

Just curious if that’s possible with the bottom preview bar (or makes any sense as a feature request for future)?

Basically, a scenario would be having an extreme Thin and Black master, but wanting to see not just the Regular interpolation in the preview bar, but also the Bold interpolation at the same time… so as to compare them visually together and how they relate.

I typically do this by having to export the full family and then compare in Illustrator or InDesign. Works, but could be nice to see and tweak the weight values in Glyphs app first.

Having both strings would take up a lot space, so not likely to happen.

You can use the “show all instances” and only select the two you are interested in. You get only the current glyph instead of the full string.

You can open the Preview Window and select a different instance, there.

Or you could use the Variable Font Preview plugin, which adds a preview “bar” at the top (or in a separate window if you wish)

Appreciate the feedback and these tips, Georg and Mark, will take a look. (Was picturing a 2 preview bar setup as a toggle to split the current bar, side by side… but yes, likely cumbersome either way). These suggestions might be enough to work.
